Paducah Cont

I forgot one of my purchases!  It just so happens I cut a piece of my First Saturday block wrong and I found the exact same Kaffe Fassett fabric in the Back Room at Hancock’s of Paducah so I’ll be able to fix my mistake :)

Here’s what it looked like in the Back Room…..that’s me in the black “Got Fabric” t-shirt on the left ;)

Judy Laquidara from Patch Work Times gave an invite to visit her at her cabin while in Paducah for homemade apple pie & ice cream.  Since we’ve contracted with Judy to give a workshop and the opening lecture for our Quintessential Quilt 2009 show, we thougth it would be fun to meet her in person.  Darlene RSVP’d and we received this reply from Judy: “We’re staying out at KY Dam Village State Park in one of the executive cottages. Watch for the signs .. not sure which cabin we’ll have til we get there.  In front of our cabin will be my silver Honda CRV, and there should be vehicles there with plates from LA, KY and IN.  We should be easy to find.“   So we didn’t have a cabin number and note the absence of a timeframe ;)

Darlene & I caught up with Jan and Sandy from our quilt guild on Thursday afternoon and since they decided to join us for dinner at one of the local churches, they also joined us for our adventure to Judy’s cabin.   We made it to the state park and luckily it was still light out as we drove all around the first cabin area to no avail.  So we did the smart thing and went to the reception desk!  We arrived to find Judy, her mom & dad, three of Judy’s friends staying at the cabin and another quilter from Pennsylviana.  Judy and her friends had drapped quilts over the railings and one of them was the quilt Judy had finished for her father.  We had a great time talking, sharing stories and discussing the quilt show.  It was well worth the trip!  Here’s a picture of us and we are from left to right: Darlene, Judy, Me, Jan and Sandy.
