DWM Crumbs

Monday, September 27th, 2010

It’s Design Wall Monday time :)   Hop on over to Judy’s DWM post to see what projects other quilters are busy creating.  I’ve decided I want my crumb quilt to be larger so my design wall has a couple of options I’m considering…..

I’m leaning towards the second one.  I thought I’d like the second orange border in the first picture but I’m liking the second picture much more now.  I have a lot of time to throw up other options while I work on the free pieced sawtooth border ;)

I volunteered to quilt a couple of the BASICs quilts for Victoria at Bumble Beans.  Here’s the first one loaded and ready to quilt………if only I could make up my mind on how to quilt it…….

Guess I’ll click through some blogs and see if I can’t find something to inspire me :)

Have a great Monday!

Design Wall Time :)

Monday, September 20th, 2010

I was gone a week and I have a bunch of pictures to post but first, here’s my Design Wall.

Click over to Judy’s Design Wall Monday post to see what other quilters have on their walls :)

Next up I finished my Recycled Cabins quilt!  It’s made completely from re-purposed shirts and I’m so pleased with it.

As you see on my design wall I finished my First Saturday BOM blocks

I completed the 3rd SAHR block.

While I was gone, I did a little shopping ;)

Check out the Cheddar…..I’m loving it!

What this means of course, is my stash report must be update :(

Stash Report:

  • Added:  8.5    Cumulative Added:  119.5 yds
  • Used:  0            Cumulative Used:  38.75 yds
  • Net Out/(In):   (80.75 yds)  I had a math error a while back and no one even noticed!!  Instead of ~50 yds in it’s ~80yds …must have been wishful thinking

Post 299 & DWM :)

Monday, September 6th, 2010

This post #299 for quiltedjonquil and it’s a Design Wall Monday post :)   Click over to Judy’s Design Wall Monday post to enjoy what other quilters are working on.   My wall doesn’t have anything new this week and I’ll be gone next week :(

I did sew the blue plaid binding on the Recycled Cabins quilt….only have to hand sew the binding down and I’ll have a finish soon.

And here’s my stash report….I picked up two tail ends at The Quilted Fox Saturday and got the thrifted shirts & skirt cut up.

Stash Report:

  • Added:  2.5    Cumulative Added:  111 yds
  • Used:  0            Cumulative Used:  38.75 yds
  • Net Out/(In):   (42.75 yds)

Thrifting :)

Saturday, September 4th, 2010

I stopped at a thrift store today because they are having a Labor Day sale and I had some time.  Glad I did because look what I snagged :)

The great gold is an XXL shirt, the red stripe is a great shirting (see below) and the pink/green print is a cotton skirt so I’ll get some nice large pieces.  The stripe shirt on the right isn’t for my fabric stash…it’s a Liz non-iron shirt for me…for $1.50, nice!

And last, here’s a picture of the pieced blocks for the Vicksburg FREE BOM to complete the pictures from my last post ;)

Have a great Labor Day weekend.

Another BOM? Crazy Right?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Dawn at Linen Closet Quilts is offering another free BOM, Folk Art Tribute.   This BOM will have different sized blocks…one will be 12″ x 48″!!  Since I can’t resist folk art, I might just have to join in on this block of the month.  Not sure how I can justify a new one since I haven’t finished the Vicksburg BOM yet.  But look I’ve competed 7 (okay, I CAN count & there are only 6 pictures below……only 6 months were applique blocks….one of the months was 4 pieced blocks) of them…..only 3 more to go!
