I realized I never blogged about my test flower once I had it finished. I’m pleased with it 🙂
I’ll be making a yellow flower like it to put in the center of the background below, for the quilt show ribbon I’m making.
Here are pictures of some past quilt show ribbons made by our guild members.
For my benefit, I took some additional pictures of the fabrics I purchases in Paducah.
I bought some bolt end pieces of Kona (the pieces in the middle), snagged 4 (or maybe it is 5) yards of some GORGEOUS Moda Bella cheddar (my name, not Moda’s) on the left and one yard of Kona orange, which is pretty bright but it goes with the Lizzy House fabrics is this picture.
These flannels were picked up for $4/yard and the quality is just wonderful.
The piece in the middle is the backing for the flower wheel quilt for my new granddaughter Lily 🙂 I was so pleased to find it as I think it’s perfect 🙂
I also picked up some black & white fabrics to use with the First Saturday blocks (the one in the middle is one we’ve actually used in a block) we are doing as well as some browns & creams for a coffee & cream quilt.
I just had to snag a yard of this squirrel fabric, it is too cute 🙂
I picked up some pink fabrics (pink was the color of the day which meant another $0.50 off) and a wonderful kiwi green piece 🙂
At $2/yard, I snagged the pinks on top along with the polka dots. The bold pink Finlandia strip from Free Spirit was part of the “color of the day” purchases.
A nice red strip, a neutral shirting and nice yellow reproductions were purchased at $3.50 & $4.00/yard.
Purples are always welcome 🙂 Especially when two of them are from Piece o’ Cake, woo hoo!
When doing a lot of scrappy and/or small stuff, grab bags are a quick way to get variety so I couldn’t resist getting one of Cherrywood fabric and another of hand dyes. Check out all the wonderful colors.
