Design wall Monday…again 🙂 Be sure to click over to Judy’s DWM post here to check out other quilting things. My wall is practically empty since I took down the civil war blocks when I was deciding if I would add a border to the Lily’s quilt and what binding to use. As you can see, I finished Lily’s quilt without any additional borders.
This is Jamie’s pattern under the L ‘ ‘Fair quilt patterns on her blog, L ‘ Fair Quilts. It’s a free pattern, at least right now, and she does a great job making easy to follow, clear directions.
Here’s my design wall such as it is:
When I was in Italy, my lovely daughter heard there was a fabric vendor at the Sacily market so we took a drive, strolled through the lovely town square, had a wonderful lunch break and found…….some fabric!!
Don’t you just love the salvage on this one? The pattern on it reminds me of the Murano glass paperweights 🙂 Here are some pictures from Sacile. The town is surrounded by the water way which was built long ago to protect it in war.
Lily & I taking a break at a cafe on the square.
It’s a lovely place and I thoroughly enjoyed our day there.
I’ve added a few more re-purposed shirts to my collection (oops, might have made another trip to the Goodwill Clearance Center). When the cost is only $0.79 per pound, it’s hard to tell myself no 😉
You know, I might need to “share” some of my shirt fabric with friends if I keep this up OR not include them in my stash report 🙂
- Fabric in: 34 yards (24 1/2 from Goodwill gift, 7 1/2 Goodwill shirts and 2 from Italy)
- Fabric out: 11 yards (Lily’s quilt 🙂 )
- YTD Fabric in: 92 yards
- YTD Fabric out: 27 yards
- Net Fabric In/(Out): 99 yards accumulated YIKES!!! My husband might be right, soon I won’t have any room in my sewing room to sew!!
