June Design Wall #1

After returning from my trip, it’s been very quiet in the sewing room.  The mother/daughter quilt is on my design wall and that’s only because I just received it back from my mother recently!  I could have straighten it, couldn’t I have?  Oh, well.

I made the bottom row, sent it to my mother with scraps of some of the fabrics I used.  My mom added the top row and the sashing.  She used Kona black for the sashing which I like 🙂  I LOVE the blocks my mom added.  LOVE. THEM.

The Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative monthly quilt auction of AAQI Priority Quilts is underway, ending on Friday.  Check them out here.   Here’s my favorite one this time:

A View of the Netherlands by Vicki Craig

For the 3rd year in a row I participated in the annual spring rite of  the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Panties” by sending some new undies to Ami to dye.  This year’s batch is the best ever!!!!

Happy Quilting!!  Cherie

  1. How special that you get to work on something like that with your mother. What a treasure that will be for you.

Not sure what to say about the panties! LOL

  2. Intrigued by the mother/daughter quilt. I have so many questions about how you came up with the idea? How long/often will you pass it back and forth? What size to you hope to end up with? See what I mean.
    BTW – Love the undies.

  3. So glad you like the strip. I am glad I finally finished it. I’m starting another one as the one I showed you at Christmas will be too big. Wish me luck! Cherie, I LOVE you blog and check in every few days. Much love, Mumsy

  4. I was so sad to miss the sisterhood of the panties this year. I even had new whities to send to Ami and never got it done. 🙁

The M/D quilt is very pretty…Did you Mom use Seminole Piecing for her row?
