Missing the Wall

Howdy!  I missed DWM last week because I was out of town and this week it’s Design Ironing Board Monday 😉  The scrap club Tea hosts met this weekend and I spent most of my sewing time preparing logs for our current project.

I was able to pull from my 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 inch strips but I needed even more so I’ve been cutting into some fat quarters and half yard stash.  I’ve also tackled the fabric leftover from past projects that have been sitting in the “to be cut” pile.  Here’s the proof….check out the trash mountain I’ve got going!

Stash Report – Same as last week, however, I will have some to add next week as I sort through I bag I brought home from my out-of-town visit to see what I will keep and what I share with others 🙂

  • Fabric in:  0 yards
  • Fabric out: 0 yards
  • YTD Fabric in: 22 yards
  • YTD Fabric out: 12 yards
  • Net Fabric In/(Out): 10 yards

DWM Time

Here it is Design Wall Monday again!  I made a couple more of the civil war blocks…..

Barbara Brackman made this one for the series and she calls it the Union Shield.

This one is Yankee Puzzle and I’ve made two of them.  We have to repeat three blocks to have a total of 56.  As I’m writing this, it occurs to me that using 4 shields in the corners might be a nice look…..maybe I’ll make three extra of them!

A quilting friend, Dorris, passed a couple of years ago and her wishes were for the guild to have her stash.  In the share I received, were a couple of orphan squares and quite a few batik scarps.  I’m played with them this weekend and think I’ll finish these up for an AAQI Priority quilt.  At least the thumbnail picture will be seen since it’s so bright 🙂

Stash Report – Same as last week:

  • Fabric in:  0 yards
  • Fabric out: 0 yards
  • YTD Fabric in: 22 yards
  • YTD Fabric out: 12 yards
  • Net Fabric In/(Out): 10 yards
