I always hear the Manic Monday Bangles song when I do my Design Wall Monday posting 🙂 Be sure to click over to Judy’s DWM post. On my wall are the last three month’s First Saturday blocks and the strip quilt I’m making with my mom. It took her a long time to add the second row and I’m taking just as long to add a third row…but I’ve almost settled on doing some Roman Stripe blocks 🙂
I’ve been steadily working on adding the rounds to the scrap club Double Time log cabin. I’ve got the 13th “log” pinned to all my blocks, so only two more to go…..
The red string blocks have all been cut into triangles 🙂 Let’s see, what am I doing with them?…..because you know I can’t start another project 😉
I like the First Saturday block for March (sorry about the blurry picture….not sure if it’s the dots or the photographer).
I’ve started work on my March Color Palette challenge. Turns out it will be a miniature with 1/4″ squares! Good thing it’s a Priority quilt for AAQI!!!! Not sure I could handle anything larger.
Stash Report – still no changes……even though I went to a quilt show with vendors this weekend!

I finished up the Feb & Mar First Saturday alternate blocks last night. This one is straight, it’s just the picture that’s off 😉
I have a great fondness for daffodils. Their short bloom period is part of what makes them so special and signals the change from winter to spring. They need little care, multiply prolifically and make great cut flowers……all wonderful reasons to love the daffodil. Here are a few of the spots in our yard that have daffodils:
Can you see Casper watching me from the garage 😉
The photo above is the strip between the houses where tiger lily’s grow as well as volunteer trees which I cover with cans to keep them from sending out side shoots. Just explaining what the rusty cans are doing here…..you can’t see them when the lily’s come up.
It is unseasonably warm in St Louis this week, with high temperatures expected near 80 degrees so I’m sure all my daffodils will be in bloom this week. It will be light out when I get home tonight so I’ll take a couple of pictures and maybe you’ll know why my blog refers to jonquils 😉
I had a busy weekend but nothing new on my design wall 🙁 I recovered my mini ironing board and it looks fabulous!
Here’s a picture from before but it doesn’t show how bad it had gotten:
And after 🙂
Nice, really nice. I got some sewing time in and used it to work on the First Saturday half square triangles.
Last, I’ve continued cutting triangles from the red string blocks…….I’m almost done. Guess I’ll have to figure out what I’m doing with them now 😉 Hmmm……
There is no change for the stash report. I did pay for some fabric but I’ve not received it yet, so there is no change.
Happy Quilting, Cherie
I’ve pulled my colors for the March Color Palette Challenge.
I’m not sure I’ll use all of them……here’s a black and white picture. I think I could leave out the light yellow and purple leaving 4 lights, 2 mediums and 1 dark. I’ll play with them and see 🙂
I got the 8th piece sewn on the Double Time Log Cabin blocks. I threw a few on the design wall to see how they looked……they don’t look like much yet. I’ve got round 9 pinned so I’ll them sewed up this weekend and see if that changes things.
