Monday, Monday

I’m not good at naming quilts and I’m not any better coming up with names for posts, lol.  I have multiple projects close to completion and I should be finishing them.  Even so, nary a one is any closer to completion.  My mojo just hasn’t been there so I’ve been sewing scraps into crumb blocks and making a few free pieced letters.

I have loaded the Double Time log cabin quilt on Sophie but I haven’t quilted anything except in the margins.

I completed another Grandmother’s Choice block, #28 Ocean Wave.

So the design wall is getting crowded with all these blocks…..I’ve completed 26 and there are 49 total.

I should be binding three four quilts, putting borders on one two quilts and preparing an applique block but what am I doing?  None of those things 🙁  On a happier note, here’s a pic of the fabrics I reported in my stash last week…….in the yellow/cheddar vein and I’ve already used the one on right for Grandmother’s Choice block #27, Grandmother’s Dream.

There’s no change in the stash report….

Monday Blocks

Here’s my design wall which is getting crowded with all the Grandmother’s Choice blocks 🙂

I finished up the alternate first Saturday block where I made yet another fabric substitution 😉

My long arm Sophie & I bonded this weekend and I finished quilting our guild’s QOV string quilt.  I quilted pretty densely as I hope this quilt gets lots of use and therefore lots of washes.  I did loops and randomly placed stars….none of which show up well in the photo.

I’m happy that one of my recent Priority quilts has sold 🙂  I had a draft blog post I’d forgotten about that said these two quilts had been added to the Quilt for Sale page.

Summer Traveling #12,978 is still available here

Beach Living # 12,979 has sold 🙂

I received two wonderful pieces of fabric from DD but I forgot to take pictures…….so here’s my stash report.

A Tale of Two Baby Quilts

Way back in April 2007, American Patchwork & Quilting printed directions to re-make an antique baby quilt.  I loved the sweet quilt and couldn’t decide whether I should make one that reproduced the antique look or go with modern fabrics.  After pulling fabrics from my stash, I decided to make one vintage AND one contemporary 🙂  I finished the tops and I love them both.  The tops languished, as quilt tops sometimes do, but for 5 freakin’ years?!?!?!  I’m proud to say I received my two tops back from Terri Kanyuck and the quilting is terrific!

The pictures aren’t very good so I’ll take some better ones later but here’s the vintage quilt, trimmed and waiting for binding:

And here’s the contemporary quilt:

And here’s the pieced back for it:

Check out Judy’s Design Wall Monday post here.

No change in the stash report……still net fabric in of 17 yards 🙁
