Unintended Blog Break

Wow, I didn’t intend to be gone so long.

During my hiatus I went to the AQS show in Paducah for the first time in 10-12 years without my friend Darlene due to illness.  It was quite a good show and while I had a fun traveling companion, met up with good friends and had a good time, it was tinged with sadness. We took Darlene with us and boy did she get around….here she is at dinner with all of us….see her in the middle?

I did some shopping and enhanced my stash with 36 yards of fabric…..but in my defense 10 yards is the blue fabric on the bottom of the stack and is for a backing…….at $2.50/yd, I had to buy it 😉

I brought home a sewing machine I’ve named Nancy.  This cute little British featherweight belonged to our wonderful host in Paducah, Nancy.  When she emailed she was ready to sell it and did I know anyone who would be interested…..well, I didn’t hesitate 🙂

I took a class at Paducah which was another first for me (I haven’t wanted to give up the time or hassle with class stuff)….but it was with Gwen Marston!!!!!  I’m so very glad I was able to get into the class and had a fabulous time.

My design wall hasn’t changed in over a month but at least it’s full.

After Paducah I flew to Italy to visit my daughter and granddaughter.

Lily

I took two reproduction baby quilts with me to finish the binding.  The pattern for this quilt was in the April 2007 American Patchwork & Quilting magazine.

The vintage version is for Lily and the modern version was gifted to Cassie because she truly appreciates hand made things 🙂
