Great News & Design Wall Post

I’m so excited for my fellow quilt guild member, Jan of The Colorful Fabriholic, because her book proposal has been accepted by AQS!  Isn’t that wonderful?

I managed to get completely caught up on the Saturday blocks from The Quilted Fox. There won’t be any Friday night rushing to complete my block for the first Sat in January like there was for December……..  I’m linking up with Judy’s Design Wall Monday post.   My design wall is getting full of the Fox Sails the Greek Isle blocks.

I haven’t posted a stash report in ages.  I have been keeping track but I misplaced the paper for quite a while.  Here are my purchases contributing to the stash in….

Purple Mourning BundlePurple mourning prints from Liberty Homestead

All of the following were acquired on a fun trip to Paducah in Oct with two friends from my quilt guild, Jan of the accepted book proposal above and Carolyn.  We had a wonderful time eating lunch at Flamingo Row, shopping at Honcock’s of Paducah and enjoying the quilts at the National Quilt Museum.

Wonderful Gift

I’m extremely tardy posting about the wonderful gift I received.  It’s because work is quite busy and with the holidays, home time is busy too.  As a result, I haven’t been posting anything.  But that doesn’t diminish the wonderfulness of this gift.  Julie, from Me and My Quilts-Exploring Possibilities asked me if I would like this quilt.  Huh?  Would I like it???  I would LOVE it.  I’ve been a big fan of blue & green since childhood.

JuliesQuilt

And she used my leftover 9 patches, so absolutely I would love it!  Julie was more than generous, she also sent the backing and the binding AND the leftover yellow background fabric.

Back Binding Extra

Check out Julie’s cute card.  She makes these herself and after she told me her source for the cards/envelopes, I make my own now, too 🙂

Julies Card

I took a picture of the quilt top and Harley had to get in it.   I think he’s been reading Jo’s Country Junction blog and wants to model on quilts like Ruby 😉  The lighting wasn’t good and my photographer skills are sad, so I used Julie’s picture above because it does her top justice.

THANK YOU Julie.  I love it and so does Harley 🙂
