Today & tomorrow will be in the 70’s but Wednesday will only get to 39 with snow showers in the morning?!?!?!? The red winged black birds have made their appearance and the robin population has grown exponentially so I really do think spring is coming. Hey, that and turtles are making their appearance on my design wall. Hop over to Judy’s DWM post for some more eye candy.
This is a sad picture but this is a baby quilt I’m making for our DD to give to her friend. DD picked the colors and we had to have turtles since her friend is a turtle lover. I see now that I have three of the monkey wrench blocks turned the wrong way round. Good thing to notice before sewing them together 🙂
When I snagged my newest featherweight, I also got this old quilt. It’s well loved and you can hardly see the crown of thorns pattern but I LOVE the cheddar sashing. For $6 it was a steal and will look lovely folded on a shelf.
As I’m preparing my stash report, I’m going to illustrate reason #127 for having a varied and abundant fabric stash. Someone might put out a call for help finding just a little bit of a specific fabric to complete something. Check out Jo’s call for help post here. Now, not only did I recognize the fabric as a Jo Morton print, I knew I had some and a hexie sized piece is on it’s way to Jo 🙂
Now for a closer inspection of the recent stash acquisitions…..the red on the right isn’t true to the actual color but that’s a Jo Morton print too. And check out the those first three on the left…..don’t they go together?
But best of all is this large, graphic Christmas print. I think it will be fabulous for a holiday quilt backing although they only had 5 1/4 yards to send me. All of these were on sale except the Jo Morton 🙂
