It hit 100 degrees with a heat index of 115!! It was a good weekend to stay inside and sew a bit….and sew I did. Here’s my crowded design wall 🙂 I’m linking up with Judy’s DWM post so hop over and check it out.
I’ve been re-arranging the solid colored rectangle samples (top left) trying to find something I really like….this might be it 🙂 Kind of pixelated.
I have some broken dishes blocks, part of my RSC challenge project, that some how got cut and sewn in the PINK month! WHAT!!! How did that happen??
(Kevin, recognize the brown/black plaid?)
I got the 12th and final First Saturday main block sewn up…….these blocks are hard! I had to look at the directions I typed up EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I like the blocks so at least they’ve been worth it, right?
And I’m working on the First Saturday alternate blocks which I didn’t sew as we went along. WHY.EVER.NOT??
Woo Hoo!! I’m catching up on the First Saturday blocks…..I can’t wait to lay these blocks out and see how they look 😉
I went surfing in my shirting scraps and found I don’t have many pinks and, of the ones I have, I wouldn’t necessarily call them watermelon pink but they will do 😉 Can I say I.LOVE.MY.STUDIO.CUTTER? Having the dog ears cut off the triangles makes it SO easy to sew accurate HST’s. The same with the speaky/pike (peaky/spike) triangle square pieces. It’s awesome! Oops, got a little off track there….here are my broken dishes blocks for July.

It’s design wall Monday and Judy sewed this week!! Click over to her DWM post to check it out 😉 I still have odds and ends on my wall:
The blues are for a project I’m working on….next I’ll slice them and move the bits around before sewing them together. Probably the last I’ll share of them until the finished piece is shown in October.
I have three doll quilts ready to quilt. I’m going to use my featherweight with a walking foot and add some hand quilting with perle cotton. Maybe some nice red X’s on this one.
Maybe some pink hearts on this one.
And perhaps some more X’s on this one in medium pink.
Happy 4th of July! We went to Fair St Louis and captured these images.
The main entrance to the Art Museum.
This one was taken from Art Hill looking out over the Grand Basin.
We went to the St Louis Art Museum’s Self-Taught Genius exhibit and saw this quilt…..very inspiring.
Nothing new on the design wall however, I do have a quilt top to show. I’m thinking about borders….not sure what I’ll do for them yet. The working title is Star Gazing.
