AQS Paducah 2017

First up is my personal favorite from the 2017 AQS Paducah quilt show.  It’s Aqua Clara (Clear Water) by Lucia Souza from Sao Paulo, Brazil.  I love the colors and composition.  This is the quilt I would chose if I could wave a wand and pick just one to bring home with me  😉I love the detailed embroidery.  Evidently the judges liked it too because it won the Best Wall Hand Workmanship award 🙂

I visited Julie Sefton’s Author’s Showcase quilt.  Thanks for taking the picture, Jan!

And scoped out Julie’s Build-a-Barn book on the AQS rack.

Only one left!!

And then I did some purposeful shopping.  I bought this green one for backing my Bonnie Hunter Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll quilt.

And these pieces for my current Bonnie Hunter Autumn Scrap Crystals quilt.  The orange is more like the second picture.

And then I shopped for a little stash enhancement.  Neutrals, brights and miscellaneous.

I was pretty good in the fabric department (30 yards total)…..Casper says, meh, but gives it two paws up for sit-ability.

I spent plenty of green papers, as Millie would say, for the Quilter’s Select metal rotary cutter from Alex Anderson with the mat (two actually) and ruler……..I’ll have to post a review after I’ve used them for a bit.  I certainly hope they are worth the money 🙂  Alex says she likes them because she can rotary cut sitting down…..I’ll let you know about that too!

Thanks to my traveling companions, Jan & Carol, and to the weather for no rain…coming or going!!
