On the Wall

I’ve added a couple of things to my wall and it’s getting crowded 🙂  I love checking out all the projects bloggers have on their design walls….hop over to Judy’s DWM post to see them all.

I have the 6th Grandmother’s Choice block, Aunt Eliza’s Star, done….twice.  Yes another “uniquely” sized block for the back.

I also finished the hand piecing part of the Sunflower block…..

I also finished up the Sept First Saturday block….on Friday night 😉

Also, Wednesday is the final day of the AAQI auction….my pick for highest bid, The Rescue,  is still in the running!

I made some free pieced, un-rulely letters for Tanya of Lazy Gal.  She’s making a very special quilt and I hope my letters aren’t too late……

and my pick for the highest bidding quilt is………

The Rescue #10,861 by Judy Leathers

Go check out the auction…….it ends October 10th!.

Comments & AAQI

No, I’m not fishing for them but rather want to know if you are having any trouble leaving them on my blog.  For some reason folks were not able to leave comments…something about a bug in the software??  My web guru made a change and I’m wondering if it’s working.  Let me know at izoofan2 AT hotmail if you can not leave comments….that is if you want to leave comments….maybe you don’t…..which is fine…..not trying to twist anyone’s arm 😉

I’ve been checking out the new AAQI quilts for sale and really like this one by Carol Hamilton from Wentzville, MO, which is just the other side of St Louis from me 🙂

And it must be the change in seasons but this one has caught my eye as well :-O

Sugar Skull Reversed

Which is the reverse of this one 😉   Both of these are by Jude Edling of Blue Earth MN.   The town must have been named by a SciFi fan, don’t you think?

Fun Things

It’s mine, it’s all mine 🙂  It is Kristin Shields‘ Iris Dreams I quilt….AAQI Priority quilt #11,083.  It arrived this weekend and it has a spot on the wall in my office at work.

And speaking of AAQI, the auction ended yesterday and there were 6, yes 6, quilts that sold for more than my pick for the highest bid quilt.  One of them was Rosy Dawn which was my favorite but here’s the highest bid winner, Log Cabin Sampler by Audrey Arno selling for $195.  Audrey has made 371 Priority quilts for AAQI and raised over $23,000!!  Isn’t that amazing?

And look at the wonderful LS (little surprise) I received from a friend at work.  Aren’t these spools colorful?  I love them!

Design Wall and a Finish

I’m so happy to have this baby quilt finished.  It was delivered, along with a Bapron, to the new mom.  After sewing down the binding, I’ve decided the quilt job Sophie & I did is just fine.

Since it’s Design Wall Monday, be sure to click here to see what everyone else is posting on Judy’s DWM blog.  Here’s my design wall:

I finished three First Saturday blocks……these first two are the last blocks from “The Fox Visits Provence” series.

And this is the alternate block from the new series “The Fox Has Spots”.

I posted earlier that Barbara Brackman is doing another block-of-the-week (BOTW) in commemoration of women’s suffrage and the blocks are posted each Saturday on her Grandmother’s Choice blog.  Here is block #1.   I’ve elected to use mainly greens and the gold/cheddar of the American movement but will add purple and white to some blocks.

Another project nearing completion is a scrap club top from earlier this year.  I added borders and pieced a backing as I want to finish this lap quilt for someone facing chemo treatments.

Don’t know where those light spots came from but they are not on the fabric!

Now for the stash report which includes these shirt thrift-ed from the Goodwill Clearance Center!

Stash Report –
