Light Blue

The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for November is light blue.  For the first time in many months, I’m actually sewing with the month’s color 😉  The light blue bar blocks are finished!  Check out the RSC link up here.

I had a huge bag of collars, cuffs and plackets from deboning thrifted shirts.  I just finished ironing, trimming and sorting them into the string boxes and so the light blue strings were almost all shirt plaids and stripes.  I’ve got the scrap string base for the wonky churn dash together too.

I’m Baaaaack

I took a blogging break.  Wow, I didn’t plan that!   There has been a bit of sewing going on so I said enough, just post already!  Two of the blocks I’m doing for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge are caught up (that’s April, May & June blocks, folks!)  I have the string blocks done for the liberated churn dash blocks so I’ll get those caught up shortly too.  July’s color is red 🙂  I’m linking up with Judy’s DWM post here.

RSC Apr May JunI got the most recent GW acquisitions added to the stash.

Other than that I’ve been very, very good 😉

Frigid Monday

It’s 4 degrees and feels like 12 below!!   Brrrrrrr……….it’s good bury-yourself-in-quilts weather.

The RSC challenge color of the month is teal/aqua and I have a couple string blocks on my design wall along with the main and alternate First Saturday blocks from March.  Yes, that’s correct, my First Sat blocks are complete and they’ve only been in my possession two days 🙂  Click over to Judy’s DWM post for more eye candy 😉

DWM 3-3-14The main First Sat block has a very pale green that’s hard to see.

FS Mar MainThe alternate block is more colorful.
