More pink string blocks with stings of more similar values. I think these will be better for the monkey wrench blocks.
The RSC14 color for February is pink. Surprisingly I didn’t have a lot of strings in the pink container so I pulled some from my 2″ and 2.5″ strips. I noticed right off there is more variability in the values of my pinks than what I used in my blue string blocks. I’ll try making liberated monkey wrench blocks from these and see how they turn out. Maybe I’ll have to make some holding the values relatively similar.
I knew I wanted to try the liberated churn dash ala Sew Joy Creations for the scrap blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC14). January’s color is blue and my neutral is cheddar. Here’s how far I’ve gotten so far….I just need to sew the pieces together and I’ll have two mirror image blocks 🙂 I’m linking up with Judy’s Design Wall Monday so hop over and check it out.

Happy Quilting, Cherie
Before my blog break, I signed up to participate in Bumble Bean’s 15 Minutes of Play scrap swap. My swap partner is Emily and here are the fun scraps I received. It’s actually not a good picture because I snapped it in the dark this morning. I went through all the pieces and there’s not one I already have…..they are all different!
We are to make a a block from made fabric using the scraps. That’s on my agenda for this weekend! Woo Hoo.
I had a birthday recently and my wonderful DH gave me an AAQI Priority quilt…..not only a Priority quilt but one he bid on and won in the February auction! Here it is on my office wall along with a piece I bought from Laura Wasolowski and another Priority quilt by Ann Scott. They make me smile every time I look up at them 🙂
