I worked on the pieced borders for the Topsy Turvy Nine Patch quilt and the third step of Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll. I only completed 3 string blocks but I finished the remaining two pieced borders for the TTNP.

Another Monday, Another Design Wall
My wall looks suspiciously like last week….with some added bits
I’ve starting working on the backing for Crumbs. It looks kind of messy but click over to Judy’s DWM post to see neat stuff on other quilter’s design walls.
I also took a couple of 15 minutes to play in between cutting shirts for a quilt that I’m taking with me to Shipshewana for a quilt retreat this week. More crumb parts….I just can’t stop!!
On a completely unrelated to quilting note, a couple of weekends ago we went to Girard, IL to their Pumpkin Festival. The main attraction was the pumpkin chunkin’ machines and a trebuchet. Here’s a picture of the Fireman’s cannon right after launching a pumpkin.
There were six total pumpkin cannons….quite the experience!
Have a good week! Cherie
Monday Design Wall
My design wall is almost the same as last week. Crumbs is finished! Links to what other quilters are busy working on can be found at Judy’s Design Wall Monday post…..check ‘em out.
I completed quilting the two BASICS quilt tops this weekend after finally deciding to take out the baptist fan quilting. I forgot to take pictures as I was in a hurry to get them boxed up and returned to Victoria. I’m happier with the quilting and it didn’t take that long to frog the baptist fan quilting. I did some on Friday night and the rest of it on the drive we took Saturday to see the Pumpkin Chunkin’ contest in Girard, IL. Fun, Fun!
Have a great week!
Oh Crumb, It’s a Flimsy
I took Vivian’s comment to heart and went ahead and included the “rejected” right handed rectangles on the top left. I like the quirkiness so thanks Vivian for the nudge. Crumbs is officially a flimsy, yea!!! After ironing the sawtooth border, I realized it was finished. Now for something fun for the backing, woo hoo.
I’m almost too embarrassed to post this picture I took while quilting the BASICS quilt but since Judy D commented that wonky baptist fans aren’t such a bad thing, here they are.
Monday Design Wall
I like Design Wall Monday because it makes me focus on getting something on the wall for posting. Thanks Judy! Check out her DWM post for links to other quilter’s design wall posts…..although I see Judy has nothing on her wall this week
I have two pictures. My crumb quilt with a couple of new borders added and the second pic with what I think will be the final border. I decided I wanted to include the second orange border so I quit thinking about it and did it. Those couple of purple/green rectangles are right handed rejects, whoops. The 3 gold/cream blocks are test blocks for a quilt I’m taking to Shipshewana for the quilt retreat in TWO WEEKS, yea!!!!!
And here’s the sawtooth borders all ready to go on the crumb quilt. I’m loving them ![]()
Stash Report – this needs to be updated because of some fabric has come my way (no I did not purchase it) but I have to see what I’m keeping vs what I’m sharing before seeing how much I need to add to my stash report. That could take me a while, yes, it could take me quite a while
