PM Design Wall Post

Late in the day design wall posting because I forgot to bring in my pictures :(  I sewed with the Scrap Club on Saturday and had such a good time.  I completed the Zigzag 9 quilt top which is BIG….approx 92 x 102!  I didn’t check the size when I started on this pattern.  Guess I just assumed it was about twin sized.  LOL not!

I’ll have to raid my stash to come up with enough fabric to make a backing for Zigzag since I used scraps for the 9 patches and don’t have any of the background left at all.

I also completed piecing the backing for my Crumb quilt top, which is on my priority list.

The result of this is I have a positive change in my stash report, woo hoo!

Wowsa!!  I think this is, perhaps, too challenging of a list to accomplish in one year.  I do, however, work best with deadlines so perhaps Judy’s challenge will be just what I need to drive me over the edge help me finish up some things that have been hanging around.

Another Monday, Another Design Wall

My wall looks suspiciously like last week….with some added bits ;)  I’ve starting working on the backing for Crumbs.  It looks kind of messy but click over to Judy’s DWM post to see neat stuff on other quilter’s design walls.

I also took a couple of 15 minutes to play in between cutting shirts for a quilt that I’m taking with me to Shipshewana for a quilt retreat this week.  More crumb parts….I just can’t stop!!

On a completely unrelated to quilting note, a couple of weekends ago we went to Girard, IL to their Pumpkin Festival.  The main attraction was the pumpkin chunkin’ machines and a trebuchet. Here’s a picture of the Fireman’s cannon right after launching a pumpkin.

There were six total pumpkin cannons….quite the experience!

Have a good week!  Cherie

Monday Design Wall

My design wall is almost the same as last week.  Crumbs is finished!  Links to what other quilters are busy working on can be found at Judy’s Design Wall Monday post…..check ‘em out.

I completed quilting the two BASICS quilt tops this weekend after finally deciding to take out the baptist fan quilting.   I forgot to take pictures as I was in a hurry to get them boxed up and returned to Victoria.   I’m happier with the quilting and it didn’t take that long to frog the baptist fan quilting.  I did some on Friday night and the rest of it on the drive we took Saturday to see the Pumpkin Chunkin’ contest in Girard, IL.  Fun, Fun!

Have a great week!
