Compared to the extreme heat we’ve been having in the midwest, today’s temperatures in mid 80′s felt terrific. A great day for design wall Monday. I’ve got a couple of test blocks from the new First Saturday on my wall this week. Everything else is the same…….
This first Sat round is called “The Fox Has Dots” and all the fabrics will have, wait for it…..DOTS! This is the main block which I felt was complicated enough to warrant a test block. Good thing too, because it’s 12 1/4″ finished and it’s supposed to 12 1/2″. Scant 1/4″ seams are in order for this block!
I made a test alternate block too because the pattern calls for making this with 1/2 sq triangles but I wanted to make flying geese units. You only get so much fabric and I wanted to make sure I could get the pieces I needed out of the fabric given.
I’m going to a baby shower soon and want to make a couple of Baprons as can be seen here. So I needed to get a bias tape maker because I wasn’t going to make bias by hand again! That meant a trip to JoAnn’s and guess what jumped into my arms? Remants of white and chartreuse Kona cotton…..half price!!
So that means fabric in….but look at this:
I finished the baby quilt top and it’s ready to get loaded on Sophie
That means fabric out!

Stash Report –
- Fabric in: 2 yards (Kona piecs)
- Fabric out: 11.5 yards (Baby quilt front & back, fabric sent to DD & napkins)
- YTD Fabric in: 108 yards
- YTD Fabric out: 43 yards
- Net Fabric In/(Out):65 yards That’s a little better but more than half my goal **sigh**
Happy Quilting, Cherie
