Rainbow Scrap Blocks

I knew I wanted to try the liberated churn dash ala Sew Joy Creations for the scrap blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC14).  January’s color is blue and my neutral is cheddar.  Here’s how far I’ve gotten so far….I just need to sew the pieces together and I’ll have two mirror image blocks 🙂  I’m linking up with Judy’s Design Wall Monday so hop over and check it out.

Jan RSCI reclaimed the fabric from my Goodwill finds so I have a bit to add to my stash report.

Monday, Monday

I’m not good at naming quilts and I’m not any better coming up with names for posts, lol.  I have multiple projects close to completion and I should be finishing them.  Even so, nary a one is any closer to completion.  My mojo just hasn’t been there so I’ve been sewing scraps into crumb blocks and making a few free pieced letters.

I have loaded the Double Time log cabin quilt on Sophie but I haven’t quilted anything except in the margins.

I completed another Grandmother’s Choice block, #28 Ocean Wave.

So the design wall is getting crowded with all these blocks…..I’ve completed 26 and there are 49 total.

I should be binding three four quilts, putting borders on one two quilts and preparing an applique block but what am I doing?  None of those things 🙁  On a happier note, here’s a pic of the fabrics I reported in my stash last week…….in the yellow/cheddar vein and I’ve already used the one on right for Grandmother’s Choice block #27, Grandmother’s Dream.

There’s no change in the stash report….

On the Wall

I’ve added a couple of things to my wall and it’s getting crowded 🙂  I love checking out all the projects bloggers have on their design walls….hop over to Judy’s DWM post to see them all.

I have the 6th Grandmother’s Choice block, Aunt Eliza’s Star, done….twice.  Yes another “uniquely” sized block for the back.

I also finished the hand piecing part of the Sunflower block…..

I also finished up the Sept First Saturday block….on Friday night 😉

Also, Wednesday is the final day of the AAQI auction….my pick for highest bid, The Rescue,  is still in the running!

I made some free pieced, un-rulely letters for Tanya of Lazy Gal.  She’s making a very special quilt and I hope my letters aren’t too late……

May DWM

Happy Monday!  Here’s what’s on my design wall

All the free pieced letters are mug mats I made as office warming presents for the folks that work for me……we had to move from offices with windows to an interior office space with no windows.  You can imagine the complaints….so I thought these might help.  New to the wall is the alternate April First Saturday block.

And check out my reject letter.  Cute, huh?  Why is it a reject?  Because all the other letters have only one fabric for their backgrounds and I wasn’t sure if there was only one scrappy one, if someone feel they got the better/worse end of the stick 😉
