RSC Pink, Watermelon Pink

I went surfing in my shirting scraps and found I don’t have many pinks and, of the ones I have, I wouldn’t necessarily call them watermelon pink but they will do 😉  Can I say I.LOVE.MY.STUDIO.CUTTER?  Having the dog ears cut off the triangles makes it SO easy to sew accurate HST’s.  The same with the speaky/pike (peaky/spike) triangle square pieces.  It’s awesome!  Oops, got a little off track there….here are my broken dishes blocks for July.

Monday Monday

It’s design wall Monday and Judy sewed this week!!  Click over to her DWM post to check it out 😉  I still have odds and ends on my wall:

DWM 7-11-16The blues are for a project I’m working on….next I’ll slice them and move the bits around before sewing them together.  Probably the last I’ll share of them until the finished piece is shown in October.

BluesI have three doll quilts ready to quilt.  I’m going to use my featherweight with a walking foot and add some hand quilting with perle cotton.  Maybe some nice red X’s on this one.

Doll Quilt 1Maybe some pink hearts on this one.

Doll Quilt 3.2And perhaps some more X’s on this one in medium pink.

4th of July, 2016

Happy 4th of July!  We went to Fair St Louis and captured these images.

The main entrance to the Art Museum.

Fair St LouisWe went to the St Louis Art Museum’s Self-Taught Genius exhibit and saw this quilt…..very inspiring.

Freedom QuiltNothing new on the design wall however, I do have a quilt top to show.  I’m thinking about borders….not sure what I’ll do for them yet.  The working title is Star Gazing.

RSC HSTs

Acronyms, don’t you love ’em?  I’m caught up on my Rainbow Scrap Challenge broken dishes blocks.

DWM 6-27-16I finished up the April green blocks so they’ve joined May & June’s blocks on the design wall.  I did a little calculating and if I want to make a queen/king size from these blocks with no borders, it will take approx 3 1/2 years at 4 blocks a month sooooo…….instead of two combos, I selected four, making a total of 8 blocks.  I’m not sure about the large plaids….what do you think?
